JASON MAY SKETCHBOOK
It's official. Jason May's sketchbook is at the printers now. If everything goes well they will be available at the NYC Comic-con at the SUMM Publications booth. He is also hoping to have new robot figurines to sell. If you puchase a robot figure you'll recieve the sketchbook free with it. The sketchbook has a spot in the inside cover for the artist to sketch out a unique con-sketch for his fans. If you don't want a robot figure, you can purchase the sketchbook separatley.
We will offer a small image or preview as soon as the book is off the press. When the robot figures are complete, we'll also offer a preview.

:: SUMM PUBLICATIONS HITS SAN DIEGO COMIC CON ::
Yes, we know this is not a booth a San Diego, but we thought we'd put up an image of our products while we talked about San Diego.
This is SUMM's first year hitting comic con. You have seen us in Philly, Chicago, Boston, SPX, Mighty Mini-con and much much more. We'll be flying into San Diego with copies of our latest book, Catching Lucifer's Lunch as well as our other titles. There are new Read Graphic Novels sticker for sale, as well as a free Gimme SUMM sticker just for our SD fans. If it is really popular we'll bring it back. No worries.
Jason will be doing is usual 'quick' custom robot sketches (on backer boards) for $10 and he's upgrading and doing some water color bots as well. He's got a few started and will be doing some at the con. The water color robots (pre painted) in his sketchbook will be $20 ($25 in frames) and anything made custom for you, at the show, will be $30 (full color water color).
T.J. May will be signing all of his books for free. Yes, for free (as long as you buy the book).
We look forward to the chaos to come. Hope to see you there.

:: DOMAIN PROBLEMS!!! ::
Currently our domain host is having problems:
"Joker.com currently experiences massive distributed denial of service attacks against nameservers.
This affects DNS resolution of Joker.com itself, and also domains which make use of Joker.com nameservers.
We are very sorry for this issue, but we are working hard for a permanent solution.
Thank you for your understanding,"
Obviously this is a major blow to the SUMM advertising campaign and we are trying to remedy the sitution right now by changing our name servers over to a new server with the help of a very good friend of our's. I will keep you posted. Thanks for your support.
Until this gets worked out, please visit our forums:

:: SUMM.net OUTAGE ::
Currently, www.joker.com is down. This is the site that we run out domain through. Catching Lucifer's Lunch came out yesterday in Diamond Previews and now no one can access my websites. This seems to always happen somehow around important events like shows, releases and signings. I am begining to think that a higher cyber power does not want SUMM Publications to thrive....

Howdy folks,
I have been asked to do a "lecture" series on comic book creation in my home town of Hudson, MA. It is part of a month long art festival to raise money for the public school libraries.
It is being put together by THE VAULT skateboard shop, THE BOOKWORM used book store, and THE HARVEST cafe. I'll be speaking with a group of teens on April 1st. They will have a few weeks to submit a small project for an art contest that I will judge on April 22nd. And then there will be a follow-up meeting on April 27th.
Details are still being hammered out so visit www.summ.net, this blog or stop into any of the stores mentioned above for more information.

Howdy,
T.J. here again.... So, I'm learning new stuff everyday.
One of the biggest lesson we learned in the past was that nothing sells your book like your book itself. With that in mind we are over-printing Catching Lucifer's Lunch, in fact it's already at the printers, and Diamond is going to help us get a copy into the hands of 1000 retailer most likely to order a copy.
But, the dilemma was that I thought I was going to have all 5000 copies shipped to my house, and then repackage them and ship them out again myself. Anybody that has gone through the distribution process using Quebecor as a printer knows that the Diamond's pick-up service is invaluable. And I thought that I was going to have to go without. But Jay mentioned on a whim that maybe Quebecor offered storage. So I asked...
And they DO! For $50 a month they'll store our product, ship to me what I need as I need it, and Diamond will pick-up their copies as they go and bill me their fee (which is peanuts compared to the shipping and handling cost, plus time wasted I would have had to go through).
Happy day!

Hello,
I'm T.J. May. This is my first post into the blog. I'll try to make it a daily occurrence, but that of course never happens.
I attended the NYC Comic-Con last weekend. I was invited to sign at the NArwain booth all day Saturday and had a great time meeting Dario and Sabrina. Also got to check in with Buddy Scalera, always a good time.
So, the con was insane. Friday night it was only open to the public from 4-8pm and 12,000 fans came through. By noon on Saturday the con had sold out of tickets for the rest of the weekend. Saturday was a shy guys worst nightmare, way too many people but it was great. The con had a few bugs that I'm sure will get worked out for future events, and there will be future events as I'm sure they got at least 50-60,000 people there this weekend. 1,000s were turned away, some pros even had to wait 45minutes to an hour just to get back in after going for a cigarette break, or food run.
But, for SUMM many new connections were made. We handed over some samples to a paramount pictures executive, and made a crucial foreign licensing connection. A company (I forget the name) headed by Tim Hegeraty (probably spelled wrong) is already brokering deals to get our titles in Germany, and plans to move it around Europe and beyond.
So, stay posted!
